Fox Furious Over Museum Plan to Include Trans Women

The interim director for a planned museum devoted to American women’s history at the Smithsonian has said she’ll include trans women.

We now interrupt our regularly scheduled terrifying, doom-laden culture war news to bring you some fluffy nonsense: Fox News is mad that trans women are likely to be included in a planned museum about American women’s history at the Smithsonian. The planned museum recently announced $55 million in donations, but has yet to gain final congressional approval or even a location, according to reporting in the New York Times.

The Fox News story drew on that Times reporting, centering it’s focus on the likelihood that trans women will one day be included in a museum. While the Times story didn’t directly quote Sasaki referring to trans women or her plans for their inclusion, it did mention that she plans to include trans women in some way. That’s all it took for the zealots at Fox to try and make some hay.

Sasaki said that she plans to include transgender women, who have been sbject to increasing harassment and violence...

Perhaps to compensate for the dearth of anything incendiary (or even interesting) in this story about a planned museum planning to include trans women, Fox then pivoted to reliving a previous bullshit culture war outrage story about a Smithsonian museum. In 2020, right wing media viciously attacked the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture for having material related to white racism, an episode Fox is showing themselves eager to relive.

Stay tuned for more important museum outrage news from Fox, as soon as anyone related to a museum mentions the word transgender again.
