This Week in Barrel Scraping: WoLF’s Spooky Story On Dating Trans Women

The anti-trans group celebrated Halloween by scaring each other about how yucky it would be for lesbians like them to date icky trans women.

Psst.

Hey.

Over here.

Yeah, you!

Have you heard of… scare quotes italics “autogynephilia?”

Paraphilia are “abnormal” sexual desires. Autogynephilia—invented by sexologist of absolutely no note Ray Blanchard (who is super duper into dick cuffs that measure how horny you are, like a normal innocent man),is the needlessly pathologizing proposal that trans women are simply men who are sexually aroused by seeing themselves as women.

Blanchard’s typology is a touch more complex than that, but frankly, it’s a load of baseless pseudoscientific crap that would have languished in obscurity, like Blanchard himself, if not for the disgusting transphobic book J. Michael Bailey published in 2003. Bailey likely became acquainted with Blanchard’s work through their co-involvement in neo-eugenics group “Human Biodiversity Institute,” and his book—in which he says trans women are “especially well-suited to prostitution”—helped promote Blanchard’s horse shit to a much wider audience than it has ever deserved.

Why have I delivered this horrific primer on autogynephilia that you can never scrub from your brain wrinkles, no matter how hard you try? I’m so glad you asked!

Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF), a virulently transphobic group with ties to The Heritage Foundation recently published a new post in their hysterically stupid blog series, “Letters From the Front,” titled: I Dated an Autogynophile [sic].

Marcia, our heroic, anonymous, lesbian letter writer, claims to have once dated an “autogynephile,” and has penned this migraine-inspiring essay “in the interest of other girls not repeating [her] mistakes.”

She claims to have started dating this girl, who I am sure, like Marcia herself, is a very real person, when they were both in college. She “had decently shaped hips” and brought Marcia around to chill with the boys, who loved such typical male activities as “slap jack,” “roughhousing,” and “male banter”!

This is such a typical transfeminine story, don’t you think? Transitioning to become “a beautiful lesbian,” then going out with the boys for some headlocks and banter. And you can’t forget the slap jack, of course, whatever the fuck that is. Marcia, are you like, ninety? Were the boys also up to some tomfoolery? Were they ne’er-do-wells? Fuck me. (Editors note: it’s either a card game for young children or some shit I never heard of.)

Disaster struck, however, when this unnamed trans girl forgot about a walkabout date she had scheduled with Marcia. Sad to say, she blew her off… to look at pornography! And Marcia walked in on her consuming this pornography! And maybe even pleasuring herself! Sexually! Exclamation points!

This very real trans girl would then cheat on Marcia by forcing herself on another woman, as we nasty freak transgenders are known to do, and damn us to hell!

But Marcia felt an obligation to “teach her how to be a woman.” And besides, she was crying. Who can say no to a crying girl?

Marcia’s ex also made the mistake of suggesting that Marcia herself might be transgerered—a trans man, no less—which Marcia concedes she has been told… many times, I suppose? But she insists that she’s “better off sticking with [her] sex.”

Denial, river in Egypt, etc.

The rest of Marcia’s story focuses primarily on this trans girl’s apparently unstoppable libido. She gets horny when she wears women’s clothes, she sexually assaults people, she cheats again and again, and then—of course—she is prescribed HRT within seconds of seeing a medical professional. Marcia nobly blames herself: She says she was too wrapped up in being a “TRA” (Trans Rights Activist, gag me, spoon, so on and so forth) to know of the holy gospel that is Blanchard’s theory of autogynephilia.

Marcia insists, had she just known about autogynephilia, she could have saved this poor young woman, who she repeatedly misgenders throughout her completely true for real story. She would have known then what she knows now… that she is homosexual, and not homogender.

Yes, I swear to you she wrote the fucking word homogender down. The letter got published, so I guess she didn’t immediately collapse dead from cringing herself into a fucking singularity.

Wrapping up, Marcia credits losing all of her “TRA friends” and her “ability to speak freely about trans issues” to her discovery of autogynephilia. She insists that, while she “[memorized]  distinctions between pan/bi and at least five variations of non-binary,” information about autogynephilia was “ignored and censored.”

Thus, the downfall of this real transgender woman, and her and Marcia’s doomed relationship.

Okay.

Here’s what I think:

This is a crock of shit. I mean that, like, literally. Marcia has never dated a trans woman or known any trans person intimately because, of course, Marcia does not exist. This is a schlocky pile of crap penned by somebody very familiar with every single pro-autogynephilia argument that exists, as well as the general vibes of the anti-trans activist crowd, specifically to promote the all too commonplace violently transmisogynistic trope of a rapey, sex-obsessed, mere-moments-from-suicide trans woman.

WoLF loves to be dishonest. We know this. They’ve filed multiple amicus briefs claiming that Title IX protections don’t count for trans women, even though they obviously do. They have argued, explicitly, that civil rights of any kind should not apply to transgender people.

These are miserable, horrible people who represent an extreme minority of bigoted cis women who want to scour trans people from the face of the earth. They take in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in private donations, likely from the kind of people who happily support The Heritage Foundation, and turn up in places like Tucker Carlson Tonight to disparage trans women as often as possible.

What they want more than anything is to convince you of their own warped, funhouse mirror view of trans women as sexual deviants who have somehow stolen womanhood from “real women” like Prometheus stole fire from the gods. For the sake of every single trans woman on earth, I am begging you:

Don’t believe their bullshit.
