Collective Responsibility Narrative Links Pride Night to Shooting

An essay that ran on Fox News directly linked the Nashville shooting to a Pride night held by the Nashville Predators, holding the LGBTQ community responsible for the shooting last week.

According to Fox News and the anti-woke sports blog OutKick, Pride nights at the local hockey rink have a direct connection to a mass-shooting in Nashville that left 6 people dead, 3 of them children. In an essay for OutKick, which also ran on Fox News’ website, Dan Zaksheske repeated the unsubstantiated rumor that the Nashville victims were targeted for the Christian faith. The essay heavily implies that Pride nights should not be held due to the probable transgender identity of Nashville shooter Aiden Hale.

According to mainstream news reports, police have said that the motive for the shooting at Covenent School in Nashville remains unclear. While Hale reportedly left behind writings in his car and in his home that police say suggest Hale planned the shooting for months and was interested in the actions of other mass killers, no theory of his motives have been put forward by reputable sources. As a child, Hale once attended the school he targeted for the attack.

There is no connection, rumored or actual, between the shooter and the Nashville Predators’ Pride Night.
